Figuring out the first half results

Schophenauser was a German philisopher that Michael Blumenfield quoted in his autobiography, when he mentioned that the first 45 years of life was spent doing things, the last 45 figuring out the meaning.  I thought of this in relationship to the story of Cain and Able.  God’s historical conflict was to love everyone equally.  That was the story of Cain and Abel. That was the story of primogenitor.  That was the story of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and their God.  That was the story today.  How to pass on a tradition.  That was the story of eveyone .  Dealing with powerlessness in each generation, was to be God-like.  The brother who is left with no real inheritence.  That was the story of God in human form.  Dealing with powerlessness through sacrifice….that was the story of God the Creator in a human form dealing over a lifetime with powerlessness.  That was the story of the Messiah, Jesus Christ, on Christmas, on Good Friday.  So what was lifetime acchievement, what was considered success in a nation founded on the pursuit of happiness, with religious liberty?  What exactly was an American identity?  In a world where too many live in ignorance and too many others live unthinking, people struggled.  Old age was learning to live with powerlessness.
